Most people want gifts that are useful. However, for a long time now I have wanted a steel beam fashioned into the shape of a superhero. You can ask me why, but to be honest I am not sure. I have wanted this for more than a decade now and it seems to be the only gift I have ever wanted.
I perfectly remember being in high school school and looking at the metal in the science labs and thinking how awesome it would be to have my own superhero made from metal. I even looked up a steel suppliers price list. Melbourne had a number of steel suppliers when I was in high school, and the list has only grown to hundreds of really qualified, trained professionals. However, I was obviously in school and was on a budget due to my lack of job and income, so I decided to wait until I was old enough to hire a fabricator and commission the project myself.
Last week, I realised I had finally saved up enough money to make my steel beam dream come true. I’ve been getting in contact with some of the local steelwork businesses to see who can fashion my steel superhero at the best possible price. After speaking to a few experts, I learned that it’s a pretty simple concept, however many fabricators aren’t used to working with a shape so delicate, or with so many details.
That’s what makes it a little bit difficult. There is one business that claims to be the best steel fabricator Melbourne has to offer, and they are going to give it a try for me for a really affordable price. They told me to come and visit their warehouse in person to have a look at their portfolio and all the things they can do. I did have a bit of a look online, but seeing their work in person sounds like a good idea. Since I have wanted this steel beam superhero my whole life, it’s important that it gets completed by someone who knows the ins and outs of steel and understands how to make it look great.
